Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and this is my first post but I am not new to Mazda's. I currently own a 90 Spec Miata and a 90 ITA Miata. I just purchased a new to me 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 with 56k on it and is totally stock. It will be my everyday driver. I was wondering if someone could give me some info on some of the weak points/flaws in this preticular model that I should watch out for or take care of. The car should be delevered to me next week so I don't have any photos of the car and have not even driven it yet. A friend of mine told me he thought there was a recall on the turbo's. Is this true and if so where can I find some inforamtion on such things. Well its nice to meet everyone and thanks for any advise, knowledge, or thoughts. ALLEN

 

I don't know of any recall, but there was a problem with them smoking excessively. Usually replaced under warranty.

Another weak point was the rear swaybar links. Timing chain tensioners can wearout, along with the solenoid for the VVT.
