Update. I have many pictures and must go through them to post all the 50K mile service I did.
So pictures and some information about a few of the services i did coming soon.
I found a RED gauge ring and side plates I was going to use about 4 years ago and decided on a blue theme instead of red for some interior trimming and such. and painted it chrome/silver to match my Autometer gauges in my console. Sometimes it is the little things that seem to bug me if I don't modify them.
I may paint the side trim plates sating black to rid the MAZDA silver edging on the 2 side dash monitors?
@Callisto I wanted to know if you had any experience with replacing and installing a new tail light for the Mazda cx-5 2023 model. I am unable to find where to unplug the cord that powers the LED for the light. I am trying to repair it myself because insurance is at an all-time high. If you can help or know anyone else who can help me please reply back. Feel free to also email me at Acfolk919@gmail.com
With a lot of chit chat on Mazda forums about oi specifically oils consumption related problems I decided I was done with having to use adapters to check mine. The ECU does not have a PID to register oil pressure so like most all Mazda you ned to use and adapter and T into were the oil pressure sender goes in order to read oil pressure. I will be installing a AutoMeter Cobalt series mechanical oil pressure gauge to match my other Auto meter gauges. it will have its on housing and mounted somewhere under the steering whell but in clear sight but not obstructing or looking to out of place. There is just not too many places to mount aftermarket gauges other than the pillar that don't look "add-On. While I do like pillar mounted gauges the coat to make a custom pillar and then Hydra coat it is not really what I want to do. so, under the steering wheel is where it is going.
This is not meant in any way to promote a Q&A of how I achieved this. Unless there are others that use an ECU calibration program and are experienced with EFI/ECU Performance calibrating it would be difficult or imposible to have the same frame of referencing information .
I just was happy with my results and wanted to share on the end result and not the how-did I get their. Thank you..
I have been trying out various ECU calibrations (about 150 files currently) now for a few years on my Mazda and logged thousands of miles. One of the area's was to improve the MPG. This is the best I have done now but it does come with some compromises. I need to watch my IATs, CAT temp, and timing to name a few important ones (actual was 8 x 2 pages) PIDS) like I was flying a plane. The ECU can only adjust any carburation adjustment so far and the sensors and senders are calibrated for a specific range of reporting as it was originally programed into the ECU capacity. Shy of going to a stand-alone ECU which would not be a good idea with the automatic this is likely the best I will ever be able to do. The test drive was from Auburn CA to Clear Lake about a 300-mile round trip. Various road condition all accounted for; I will say probably for a real world drive the best conditions you could ask for to get a good number. Not a cheat just a fun to do and see what the highest values I could achieve. I drove at or slightly above all the posted speed limits.
All in all, it put a smile on my face, but I did realize that to use it daily would not be practical. Besides I have a completely safe Calibration file I made a couple years ago for highway trips that I can average the same trip and close to the same road conditions 28-32 MPG anyway. My new personal best turn key and drive normally 42mpg.
This experiment, my goal was 50mpg, but I just realistically see that happening. Naturally I could have cheated and drifted semi's and took advantage of descending road area's.
Oh I used a full tank of Chevron 93 octane with 1/2 gallon of Xylene and 2 bottle of STP fuel treatment. This was to protect the engine.
I did not use my water injection. But I am sure had I ,may have gotten 1-2 (+)mpg more????
*My new personal best turn key and drive normally 42mpg
Mazda claimed MPG specifications: 2.5-liter I-4 and the Mazda3 sedan's fuel economy is rated 27/36 mpg with the automatic Mazda claimed Curb weight: 3094 lb (my certified weight with full tank of fuel is 3290lb) The test was plus 295 for passenger and myself so 3585lbs.
