Was wondering if I could get some advice on the 2010 2.2d 185 engine please?

I'm new to mazda and have just put a deposit down on a 2010 plate after a test drive. My first thoughts after this drive were 'wow' as it performed amazingly, and apparently frugally too!

It has first 3 dealer stamps but the 4th service at around 50k was at an independent.

Having done research I have seen many scare stories regarding the timing chain stretching and also the dpf issues. However I drive on motorway each day for 30miles at least do this should not be an issue.

Could anyone give me advice on these issues please or maybe put my mind at rest if they are nothing? To be fair it's the timing chain issue that has me more worried.

I'd hate to not go ahead with the purchase as it seems such a fab car.

I thought these had a belt like the Mazda 6, but the workshop manual says otherwise.
Haven't heard of any chain issues in the Oz market.
