I have only made 2-3 posts on here because im a new mazda 3 owner, however a lady pulled out in front of me this past saturday and with my luck, they totaled the car.
Im looking at a 2007 mazda 3 hatch and although my 2004 mazda 3 did this, this newer one is more notable.
I dont know how familiar you guys are with sounds but both my car and this new one, both with manual transmissions, when accelerating lightly theres a whine in the transmission thats ONLY audible. Doesnt matter what gear, but if you let off it stops and if you give it more than partial throttle it stops.

Now my issue is my 92 3000gt vr4 did the EXACT same thing, however it was louder right before the imput shaft bearing seized up and broke the shaft.

Is this a common sound among these cars? Like i said, my 2004 made the same noise with no shifting issues, just a sound.

 

Anyone even know what I'm talking about?? I don't believe it's loud enough to pick up with a camera so idk how else to explain.

 

My '06 doesnt make a sound like that that I have noticed but I will try and see if it does today Will let you know soon

 

I've never had a transmission whine.
