Hi , I’ve got a 16 plate mazda 3 sport sky active 2.2l diesel.

A while ago my engine oil light appeared and it’s caused a loss in power when I’m driving . It continues to drive but hardly accelerates.

when I turn the engine off and back on the alarm clears and the car goes back to normal , I’ve found that if I turn my car off then back on straight away the light will appear again causing the same problem within a few minutes however if I leave the car off for a day or two I can then go a week without it appearing.

I changed the oil sensor in the tank and this seemed to of cured it for a while but the problem has come back. Also probably worth noting this problem happened a few weeks after an oil and filter change. Any help would be appreciated

 

Have you scanned it for fault codes?

Have you had the oil pressure tested/measured?
