You could try a wireless CarPlay/Android Auto adapter that plugs into the usb port under the arm rest. I prefer wired myself, but that's your call.

Agree. It's great not having to take your phone out and hook it up every time you run an errand. I have the AA Wireless, too. It was a pain to set up (in my case) but seamless and fully automatic thereafter.

We tried a wireless CarPlay adapter once. It worked great for listening to music, podcasts, etc.

However, when my wife would watch videos (Facebook, TikTok, etc), while riding in the passenger seat, she couldn't stand it, because the video and audio was not in sync. Which is due to the few milliseconds to convert the audio to wireless, send the signal, and the receiver convert it back.

It was removed and returned when we got back home.

I'm not sure if the built in version has thus lag.

That depends on the unit. Some have adjustments for this lag.

It still won't be as direct as wired, but those who are fine with it should definitely look into the delay and how bad it is on each adapter.

My 2022 PP also only has wired carplay. I have an adapter which is fine for one phone, but less convenient with two phones, so I went back to wired. I put a short cable in the USB port and leave the head poking ~6” out from the armrest. It’s delay-free and it keeps the phone charged. Plus there are many times I don’t want to use carplay, anyway.

I run a 3 foot cord and it's the perfect length. It reaches my phone holder and little cubby perfectly, but doesn't leave extra wire everywhere lol.
