Car: 2005 Mazda 3S

Had anyone the same problem?

There are actually two problems. The first one is not a big issue, just a wierd thing.

When I turn the dial on the climat control to send the air to legs, it automatically opens the air input to outside. I thought it is supposed to do only when the air is sent to windshield or windshield and legs.
The dealer was suprised to learn about it, they changed the climate control block, but the problem is still here (plus scratches around climate controls! [:@]) The dealer claims it's in all Mazda 3 models...

The real problem is that when I have the climat control set to legs, and press the button to close the air circulation, it, after awhile, opens by itself.
It was supposed to be fixed by the dealer, but my wife claims it noticed once that it reopened automatically.

you should be able to change air circulation when you set the dial at 12 o'clock (floor), mine does it, haven't noticed it'd change it back. the rear defrogger turns it self off after a while (15min?)

Yes, I can close the air circulation when the dial is set at 12 o'clock, however, it opens on its own for no apparent reason. It can happen when you turn the engine off and turn it back on, but not always. It can happen during driving as well.

 

The engine on/off part is true with my car, but have not noticed it changing automatically during drive though.

I haven't had either of these problems w/mine, but I almost always leave mine on outside air too.

 

The issue became the issue this winter only.
My wife have noticed that when she was starting the car remotely.
She hates the hot air blowing into her face and that's why she always, in the Winter, keeps the the dial on 'floor'
When there were a few really cold nights recently, she noticed that because of the circulation changing to 'open' the interior wasn't warming up enough.
Personaly, I don't think about it as any big time issue, but since my wife has the problem, I have it too
