Hi I’m looking for ideas before tearing up the carpet. I’ve lost the Mazda 3 smart key inside the vehicle. It starts and drives but we cant lock the door. Thought it slipped down the console side of the seat but cant find it and we’ve searched many times. Under each seat are openings in the carpet for a vent about 4 inches wide. Weve noticed other trash, coins etc have fallen in there and its clearly enough room for the smart key

 

The same thing happened in our 2016; if I recall correctly I finally found the key wedged under one of the seat tracks. The good news is, as long as you cannot lock the doors, you know the key is in there somewhere.
