Default Mazda 3 Low Beam Bulb Replacement

I was trying to replace the headlight bulb for the low beam headlight and I pulled up the youtube video. My car is not the same as youtube videos or the guides I have found on the net. Has anyone seen anything like this? The caps don't look the same and beneath the caps there is that metal piece, not a bulb.

You appear to have HID headlights. I hope you followed the directions on the warning label.
======================
From the Workshop Manual

Discharge type Headlight

Warning
• Incorrect servicing of the discharge headlights could result in electrical shock. Before servicing the discharge headlights, always refer to the discharge headlight service warnings. (See DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT SERVICE WARNINGS.)

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the front bumper.

3. Remove the front combination light.

4. Remove the cover.

Caution
• The bulb generates extremely high heat when it is illuminated. If the surface of the bulb is soiled, excessive heat will build up and the life of the bulb will be shortened. When replacing the bulb, hold the metal flange, not the glass.

5. Remove the connector, then remove the discharge headlight bulb.

6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Default Bulb

If the whole diffuser is bad, it is most likely due to the headlight bulb. It is likely that the headlight can be replaced, but the diffuser will be inoperable.

I have a sunsport hood on my 98 2.5, and I saw the caps for the low beam headlights on the car.

For example here is a clip from a well know source. I don't see anything like this. I don't know the link or have found it on the internet.
