I recently bought a 2004 Mazda3, 2.3L, 5-speed. Motor mounts are toast. I ordered a motor mount kit off E-Bay, and I changed out the first 2 mounts without any problems. I am working on the rear mount now but the mount that came in the kit is not the same as the one on my car! They look very similar, but mine is threaded in the center, and mounts differently than the one I bought. I can't find a part store that carries the one I need, and they don't even know where to look! I've attached a pic to show where the threaded part is. Can anyone help???

 

That mount should not be threaded there. I bet when a previous owner removed it they did not align it properly and the bolt they used "cut threads" into that part. It should be a smooth bore for the bolt to slide through.

Did you try installing the one with the kit?
