Default Top mount or front mount inter cooler?

for a mazdaspeed 3, with the stock top mount would it be better to get a hood with a scoop or a front mount inter cooler? both run about $1000. open to anything

there is a really cool hood available, but it is only available directly from japan and i don't read japanese to get you a price or delivery options.

in the long run, a FMIC would be a better idea. check this kit out. i really like the idea.

I'd have to agree, I think you'll almost always get better use out of a FM vs TM and that looks like a well built kit.

You should be able to do an FMICcheaper than that, as long as you are willing to do the work yourself. I"ve seen some universal kits (cut and fit your own piping from a universal selection vs. a pre-made kit) that can go for less than $200!! But I can not vouch for their quality.
I think the hood w/a properly placed ram-air scoop would be cool and very different!! Would it offer the best performance? Hmmm>> that would remain to be seen, though I have seen larger TMIC"s, replacements if you will, done on other MS3"s. IIRC, it"s an English company that is producing them for the Euro MPS market and they look good!! That in combination with a hood could afford you the best of both worlds?
