Default LET WIFE DRIVE CAR -HELP

Guys, is it asking to much that when another individual drives our M3 ( this is why it never previously happened ) that one would be careful and use good judgement ? Apparently someone took a turn and did not judge the distance between the rear wheel and the CURB and now my DAMN edge of the rim now is scratched. Yup, new rims and tires and now this.

Can someone advise is there anyway I can have this sanded or grinded down to the nice smooth edge it once was ? I do not want to purchase a new rim .

THANKS

Ouch...that sucks. My wife has ground up the RX-8 wheels on her 6 too. You're not alone.

You'll never get it looking like new, but you could grind a little down to make it more smooth than it is (depending on how deep the gouges are.) Or you might cause more damage by even trying.

With Michigan roads, I've stopped looking at the condition of my wheels.

There are places that fix rims....just check wheel shops..if they don't they may be able to point you in the right direction.

SST, that sounds good but what would i use ? Like a dremel tool perhaps as I really do not want to make it worse . Z, I will also try to find a shop as well that specializes in repairing rims and hope they do not try and rape me on the price . thanks guys

A dremel would probably work, don't go too high on the grit paper you are using. They have small mandrel heads for dremels that allow you to slip on a sandpaper tube. Brace the hand you are holding the dremel in against the wheel to keep it steady, and slowly grind away the scar.

Stay away from the tire, as well as the tire bead surface.

I think I'd live with the gouge.

I'll be emailing my friend with the account and routing number for wiring cash in the amount of one new rim. Please and Spank you.

Really that blows, but the only problem i have had is someone trying to see how many blades are on the turbine by counting holes in the hood!!!! >,<

Depending how intense the scratch is,and what the rim is like (are we talking a brushed aluminium look?), but I would personallyconsider hand sanding it myself, with an 800 grit or maybe a 600.

If you can even out the surface, you might be able tofinish up withPolishing Compoundand restore a nice even look.

Women are expensive, in many ways, but maintaining the current one is generally less costly than finding a new gal ...
