Default lcd display question

i have an '04 m3 hatch and the radio display constantly says "AMB ---" and im guessing thats for the ambient temp but i dont know how to make it work. ive only had the car for about 2 weeks and i only wish i would have gotten it sooner. anyone have help on the display?

What country are you in? Occasionally some of the first year LCD's will display the "AMB" message. I believe some people have successfully added the AMB temp. sensor to the radio and had the temp. display afterwards.

If you just want it to go away then disconnect the battery, or HU, and let it reset and it should leave that portion of the screen blank.

my 04 hatch had the same thing and I "remedied" it by disconnecting the battery and hookin er back up. now the right side of my display is blank....

it worked. thanks for all the help. the ambient temp would have been a nice feature but oh well
