Just bought a used 2008 mazda 3. It has only one key and remote. The remote does not work, battery is good. Itried the reprogramming with leaving door open, then key on off 3 times, then close door and open 3 times, but at that step, the locks never give the signal to program the fob. Any ideas?

 

Time to buy a new remote.

 

My issue is the car never goes into programming mode.

 

Figured it out. Bad keyless remote receiver in roof, next to map light in headliner.
