Hi, I have a 2013 CX-5 and I've been having trouble locking and unlocking the car with the key fob. The light will blink whenever I press a button but the lock and unlock won't always work. I haven't had a problem starting the car with the fob, just locking and unlocking. I just recently got a new battery for the car. Wonder if that could cause the problem? Is there an easy fix?

 

Yes, change the battery in the fob!

 

Check your owner's manual or call service. Think there was something in the manual on the 2017 that the fob needs reprogramming if you replace the car battery.

 

That's new. I've replaced the battery in both AKE fobs for my 2014 with no problem.

 

There's been a lot of "water under the bridge" between 2014 and 2017. Or for that matter, between 2016.5 and 2017!
