I'm surprised a SportGT didn't comes std w/A/C? Is A/C optional on all models in Canada?
In the States, only the base i model comes w/o it. Also, power windows and door lock are optional, but on all other trim levels they are std. equip.

I think that the A/C is always an option on no matter what model...except the mazdaspeed 3....

I live on PEI , and I went and picked up my 3 in Montreal, I got home yesterday with it...13 hours one way, bought the car, got lost for 4 hours, drove back 13 hours....slept 4 hours in 44 hours, good times....lol

All manufacturers buy the A/C kits from specific A/C manufacturers/venders. No manufacturer makes their own A/C system. They order them made specific to that vehicle in huge lots of kits. As to whether they or the vendor make them available to the public it is probable that they do. All the cars are prewired to some extent but the kits come with the additional wiring. A call to the dealer for availability of the kit would be the first step. If none available there then an internet search of the manufacturer of the A/C system ( Sankyo or whatever) would be the next step. It is not uncommon for a vender or auto manufacturer to have an overstock of any part so they probably exist. You just have to dig for it. A model specific A/C kit pays 6-8 hours to install so not a big deal.
