I routinely run 5w20. No problems.
As far as break in when I bought it... I ran it from purchase until 1k. Changed it to 5w20 conventional oil. Drove until about 8k (I know, 7k is kinda extreme for conventional but no biggie) and changed it to 5w20 synthetic. 41.5k so far and no engine issues whatsoever.

I used to use Mobil1 full synthetic in my Civic / Built motor with 80 shot NOS - daily driven hard and when I sold the motor it had perfect compression.

After that I never cared to try another brand

Full synthetic Castrol 5w-20...YAY auto zone, boo prices. =( Actually just recently around the 90,000 mile mark i went to synthetic blend. its only like 4 something a quart almost 2 dollars cheaper than full synthetic.

Go to Advance Auto, they will beat Autozone's prices and don't hire high school kids to run the store.
