Default GT Audio Problem!

My one week old "3" has an inoperable problem with the stereo!!! The bass EQ changes randomly louder and softer, intermittently! Sounds like CRAP! Unrelated to the automatic level function. I took it on and the service guy called Mazda factory, and guess what? They KNEW about the faulty stereos in the new '08s and the dealer didn't (BAD). The service guy said 2 MONTHS till the know what kind of workaround will be coming down the pike. PISSED! They sold it to me without disclosing it (VERY BAD). I want to be thrilled with my brand new car... Im a bit PISSED OFF!

Yall should know

Is this all 08 3's? I own a MS3 Grand Touring with the BOSE Premium Stereo. Have not noticed this yet. What type of 3 do you have and what type of stereo? Thanks.

I have the regular aspirated (non speed) 3 HB with the premium Bose package. I don't know about the frequency of the problem.

this is soon to be a recall from what i have heard. there are a lot of people having these problems, so keep a watch out for that letter in the mail.

well... Cool. Thanks for the inside scoop. Hopefully soon! I'm a professional musician and I rely on drive time to study music. Do they normally kick down somekind of make good?

I'm getting rid of my millenia and most definitely getting a speed3. it's just a matter of whether to get a sport or a gt. I don't care about the rainsensing wipers or even leather bolsters to the seats.I do care about sound quality and i can't seem to get a straight answer from researching on the internet about the base sound system in the sport. Can anyone with the base model tell me the quality of it/relative to other cars you've had?

they will usually send you a letter to tell you that the stereo is being recalled. then you just go to the dealership and they fix it under warranty.

the key thing here is that you need to go to the dealership and tell them what the problem is. if no one goes in, they will not think this is a big deal. the guy that i talked to said that there are a lot of complaints right now, but not enough to escalate it to a recall. everyone that has this problem, do the same.

Funny thing is that today I noticed that the bass seems to now fluctuate. Will keep an eye on it...
