Default audio problem

I'm a new Mazda 3 owner. About 6,000 miles. Tonight I was listening to my radio on the way somewhere and when I went to leave the audio wouldn't turn on. The temp and time are displayed, I can insert and eject discs, but there aren't any visual displays besides these and absolutely no sound. Can anyone help?

maybe a blown fuse? did you make sure to push the power button for the audio system to turn it on? maybe try resetting you ECU and see if that does anything. take the negative battery cable off the terminal for about 10 minutes then replace and see if that helps. (when doing this if you ahve an alarm, you will need to put the key into the on position and keep it there while you put the cable back on or the alarm will go off)

You can eject a CD w/the system off, but as soon as you insert one, the system automatically comes on. So power is probablynotthe issue.

Sounds to me like it's a call/trip to the stealer for some warranty work.
