Engine Swap Recommendations
Hey everyone,
New car guy here. I have a 2013 Mazda 3 2.0L Non-SkyActive VIN F. Recently my engine went bad (long story) (**** autozone) but now I need to get it replaced.
I found a parts guy that has a lot of Mazda3 engines and will do the swap himself for a good price. I wanted to know what engines would fit my car and what y’all would recommend. He has Gen 3-4 engines and different sizes (2.0L, 2.5L, 2.5L turbo).
Having a 2.5L turbo would be preferred but I wanted to make sure a 2014-2022 engine would fit my car.
(If y’all could dumb it down for me that’ll be great)

I assume you have the last of the 2009 -2013 BL chassis? Easiest swap is a 2011 - 2013 LF engine. 2nd best 2009 - 2011 LF engine. 2.5 ford duratec engines are a common swap on 1st gen BK chassis.
Everything after the BL's are PE & PY skyactiv engines, which aren't plug & play.
