hi i have a mazda 3 ts2 1.6 o6 year with the emllight on the code it has coming up is 2187 bank1 running lean on idle. i have checked and people keep coming up with the purge valve, how do you test it and where is it located on that engine any pic would be good. also the pvc valve i have heard which i know is under the inlet manifold how do you test to seeif that is at fault. i have spread around the intake system to see if there are any leaks whenthe engine is running by the inlet mainfold gasket the engine picks up and goes down abit can any one help thanks
just want to knowhow to check both valves are working .

 

Most likely you have a cracked pcv hose which in order to replace it you will need to remove the intake manifold
