Hey everyone. New member here.

My car is a base model mazda 3 year 2008. It had the 2.0lt and its auto.

Engine took a **** and I got a really good deal on a 2.3 liter engine from a 2004. I used the 2.3s harness and everything pretty much plugged in fine. I also picked up a 2.3 lt computer from the junk yard .

I finished installing the motor and it wont even crank with the junkyard ecu. But with the 2.0 ecu it cranks just wont start. I do not have access to the computer from the engine or keys

You will need to get the 2.3ltr PCM programmed to the vehicle.

 

I was told that if I change over the vvt components from the 2.0 it will run with the 2.0 ecu

 

The immobilizer system needs to communicate with the new computer.

 

How can I go about doing this?

I was also told that switching over the 2.0vvt head to the 2.3 motor will work, is that right?

 

You will need to take it to Mazda for programming.
