Default dash light problem, anyone had this?

Anyone had this?
Start the car at night, auto headlights come on etc, but all the dashlights do not except the orange dial lights (but not the blue ones) and the little lights on the heating/climate buttons.
The display lights, the radio lights, the blue 'headlamps on' dial lights all do not work.
Tried turning stuff on and off whilst driving, nothing, but if I stop, turn off the car and restart, all ok again.

I can't see that it is an individual fuse, and can't understand why the orange main dial lights still work....

I'm pretty sure that's going to end up being a fuse. I'd either check them all to see if they're working, or just take it to the dealer and have them figure it out.

Thanks for the pointers, checked, fuses ok. I checked the dimmer for the dash lights, it's not that though as they also dim down the instrument lights. When I have this problem (intermittent) the orange lights on the instruments are not dimmed, and the rest are completly blacked out not even 'very' dim.

Looks like a dealer issue unless anyone else has had this.....must be a loose connection.

Did you check both fuse boxes? There's one behind the glove compartment, and one in the engine compartment.

if it's out of warranty, I would try to find a good independant mechanic. The dealer will soak you. Look around, and you can usually find a guy that specializes in Japanese cars. There is a guy here that does Hondas, Mazdas, and Toyotas.
