Creaking, cracking sound
Hi there,
After a recent front end collision, an ICBC-accredited repair shop repaired my car. Since I got my car back it has been making a terrible creaking, cracking sound which seems to be coming from the driver's side wheel or the front subframe area (the accident damage was to the passenger side). Looking over the receipt from the repair shop I noticed they replaced my subframe with one from a Mazda 3 2.0L, mine is 2.5L. I'm wondering if it's okay to swap a subframe from a vehicle with a smaller engine than mine?

Normally I seldom use a full quote when replying but here is the thing... your condition with your Mazda needs to be addressed with the shop that did the work. Because they changed parts that are "NOT" normally serviced only they can and should be the ones to look at what your problem is. Once a subframe has been removed and replaced takes it out of normal services procedures and unless another member had the "EXACT" reason as you and the same model and trim for replacing it no one can really advise other than what I posted.
