Clutch Master or Slave Cylinder Problem?
How to diagnose correctly? My daughter said that she heard/felt something snap when she was changing gear (standard transmission), and the clutch pedal went to the floor. On other cars, this would be a clutch cable failure, but the 2006 Mazda3 is a hydraulic clutch. I checked the brake/clutch fluid, and it's still at the correct level (on Max). I haven't taken anything apart yet (will start diving in later today), but anything obvious I should be looking for? Any known issues?
Thanks in advance!

Hi - I've just created a video showing the full range of movement on the clutch fork. The car doesn't drive at present.

Also, when I pressed the bellows on the end of the slave cylinder, it squirted brake fluid at me. To my (uneducated) eye, this is indicative of a bad Slave Cylinder, which should be replaced; do you agree?
Also, should I change the clutch if the slave cylinder looks to be the issue? (I'd rather not, if possible )
