Default Buying a Mazda3 [12' iTouring Vs 13' Sport]

Hey, I have been doing research for my first car and trading in my parents old crown vic. I am stuck between the 12' tour and '13 sport. I figured this would be the most helpful place to find additional research and opinions.

Lets approximate that both trims are standard without any additional options

This is the dealership I am at...

13' sport price (without tax/fee/etc...) 18k
12' itour price (w/o tax...fee..etc) 16.3k

Both brand new

With a 1.7k difference in price should I go after the tour?
I did some comparison on specs and found they are very similar except the alloy wheels and what not, but nothing major is different. I might be able to get lower then 16.3k, but not much more. The 18k is pretty much locked.

Are then any significant differences to these cars? With a 1.7k difference if the only main difference is the year then I would go with the itour.

All help would be highly appreciated. I might finally join the mazda family.

Thanks
