That my friend is a sign of *edit* warped rotors. What year is you Mazda, and have the rotors been turned previously? If they have been turned, I would go get new ones and if not, go get them turned. Most of the time that will fix your problem.

The other less likely problem is an out of round tire.
As others on here have heard me say before, I owned a car w/this problem and spent 2 yrs checking out brake problems (it drove me NUTS!!! ) only to have it go away when I replaced the tires that were on it.
But, as 04M3S says, the most likely cause is warped rotors. Get 'em turned first and see....

Just trying to offer a possible, if not improbable alternative.
I have heard it said that one in every 1 million tires produced gets past final inspection w/a flaw such as I had and described. Wouldn't you know it would be me that got that one. [&:]
