I have an Escallade with Auto Start, works no prob. It has programmable keys to. I start it from inside, go out and put the key in the ignition and ...WHA-LA ... works like a champ. I love it and am also going to add it to my 07 Mazda3. Guy I know had it installed on his CX-7, but he has the smart key.

The spare key sits in the dash with a antennta thing connected to it i the other end attached around the outside of the ignition key insert. When you try to start the car the Immobilizer system looks to see if the key being used for the car is the correct key. Obviously if you are using a remote start there is not a key within the ignition. This is a very normal installation, the only other kind if when the system remembers the RF signal from the key, but they are much more expensive.

I have a remote start of my manumatic, sportsshift, AM, whatever you wanna call it and it works fine. The Mazda system interfaces with my Immobilizer system as well as with the factory alarm and upgrades it significantly with a shock sensor.

If you have any specific questions about remote start installation I can help you, i can answer almost all your questions.

DEI makers of Viper, Python, hornet and others makes modules for many newer cars that allow the remote start to function and you do not need to install a second key in the car. i suggest you find a local shop that has experience with this brand as they will be able to do the install correct. Going to the Bib Boy stores does not always mean you have the best tech working on your car wwho understands the systems. check out the following link:

How would you override the clutch cutoff switch and the electronics that go along with it?
Good question...the clutch needs to be disengaged before starting. (BTW, Virg, you are a moderator now, congrats!)
