i bought an 08 mazda 3 hatch and when the dealer bought a replacement antenna, it didnt fit. currently, the antenna area has an inch long cylinder shaped piece of silver with "dynamik" engraved on the side of the silver piece. when i unscrewed the silver piece it is hollow inside (which means the screw is attached to the roof and any antenna must be hollow and screw over it). the antenna the dealer bought me has the screw at the end of it, and as such, won't fit. i looked up "dynamik" on the internet and cannot find it affiliated with any antenna/car parts manufacturer.

can someone tell me if there is a fixture that sits over the silver piece? the silver piece cannot be the antenna because the reception on the radio sucks.

 

pics, i havent seen an 08 antenna but the oem style is setup where the screw is in the antenna and it screws into the holder in the roof, id try some1 else antenna and if the reception is still crappy then you may have an issue with the radio itself
