Just a correction here... my 2012 Mazda 3 SkyActiv does not take the Purolator A44688. It's about .5" too wide. The correct one that fits my car directly cross references with the 2013 CX-5 SkyActiv model (below) and it's a perfect fit.

Purolator A26280 (advanceautoparts.com)
