2015 Mazda 3 GT 2.2 diesel [annoying issues]
Hi! A few months ago, I bought a 2015 Mazda 3 GT 2.2 diesel (after driving a 2011 Mazda 3 Sport, 1.6 diesel). The story is that now I'm not that happy with my 2015 Mazda 3 GT 2.2 diesel.
If I simply compare them, this is what is happening:
1. Shifter... not always, but most of the time it's very hard to put in the gear. I literally must wait for 1-2 seconds, then something moves inside, and then it lets me to fully put it in the gear. This completely destroys the joy of driving.
2. When I floor it, the check engine light goes on, not right away, but after like 5 min or so, quite randomly. It's gone if I drive gently and after I switch off the engine three times (this includes shorted drive around).
3. Fuel consumption went up, not sure precise, but current indicators show me like 50 liters when I accelerate gently in 1/2/3rd gear, and when I drive downhill in neutral, it goes from 2 to 30 L in spikes, which was not the case in the first month after buying this car).
4. Handling is worse compared with my former 2011 Mazda 3 Sport. That car had 17" wheels; this one has 18", but then it must be something with suspension? It simply does not feel confident on open roads with curves like I was confident in my previous (older) Mazda 3.
5. The infotainment system (touchscreen) is relay bad, slow, low resolution... but the worst part is the touch doesn't work on half screen, and it also randomly presses buttons by itself / changes songs.. so annoying.
6. The sound quality (Bose) is so bad, not to mention that the speaker membrane fell off as the rust completely destroyed the case of the speaker. I glued it myself back to the speaker, sound is good now, but still not as good as in my ex 2011 Mazda 3 that even did not have a Bose system.
I did long research before buying this, and yes, these have issue with the engine and i-stop system (which I prefer not to use) but my issues are mostly different. I'm also aware I simply got bad sample, but I got the car from 1st owner, unless old folks did not know how to change the gears nicely. I actually went to visit my friend, who is a mechanic. He drove it and said that the shifter is normal, but the weird thing is that it might be okay that time, but as I wrote, it's not always the same.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate!
Any idea will help. If I need to change the car, it's not the end of the world, but I'm not sure what else is "good" to get and that has a nice design like this one.
