Is there such a thing? I want a simple key that I can take kayaking (it might get wet) or leave with a parking attendant. No remotes necessary.

 

I think so- I have a new 3 on order, I seem to recall the sales guy showing it to me, I think it pops out of the smart key and then you pop off the cover where the ignition key goes on the dash. It was a flat plastic key, sort of flimsy but would serve the need if you didn't break it.

My car will have the tech package with push button start so the ignition is covered with a plastic plug. If you don't have Tech package the remote may be different, not sure.

Dumb question- did you check the owners manual or ask your salesman?
