2010 Mazda 3 dash indicator lights for door jar stay on
I originally had an issue with the interior lights coming on randomly while driving. Then the dash light started coming on saying the passenger front door was open. So after reading through this forum among others I replaced both door switches thinking it was easy and cheap enough. After putting both switches in, the dash indicator for the door ajar stay on constantly. I still have the interior lights in the off position to minimize battery draw so I haven’t fixed the original issue and seem to have created another. This problem seems common in the Mazda’s and the new switches seemed to be a logical step in correcting the issue. For obvious reasons I’m trying to steer clear of the dealership route and I’m hoping I can get some help with the collective knowledge of the forum. Thanks in advance for your help!

donh, my 2010 m3 exhibits the same problem. although the door ajar issues were the first sign, and it seems, mostly at colder times of year.
I haven't seen that in a while;but instead, the driver's side courtesy light doesn't come when I open a door. I can turn it on manually, if needed; but it annoys me that it doesn't just come on. The dealer was unable to tell mde anything about the system: whether it has a central control module or is just simple switches and wires. Clearly, based on the slow start and fade out, it's more than just switches.
Recently, it just started working normally, on its own for almost a month, then back to no driver's side light.
So, hopefully, you can tell me what you found. I am like you, and don't want to just hand it over to the dealer and end up throwing $$ at it, in hopes of a miracle repair.
