2008 Madza 3 Size of speakers in the doors?
I just got a 2008 Madza 3 I Touring Sadan and I am thinking of replacing the factory spreakers in the front and back doors. What is the size of the speakers on the front and back doors? Will it be easy to wire them in or should I have a shop do it? I never replace factory speakers with aftermarket 1s. I know that most stock speakers have wiring harnesses.
OK I got tired of waiting for someone here to give the info, So I had to find out myself.... You would be best off going with 6.5 inch Component speakers and 1 inch Tweeter for the front door. And for the rear doorsyou would want to go with 5x8. I hope this helps someone
see though i find the speakers in the car already sound reallly good. i mean 4 of those sound awesome. they sound better then my friends car and he has 2 subs and 4 aftermarket speakers
go with component speakers.
altho i dont think the stock deck has enough power to run component's properly, so an amp will really help.
and round speakers will always sound better than oval shaped speakers.

Oh and to comment on the OP's question from four years ago. The stock speaker size is 6x8 or 5x7 (they're the same size basically) for both front and rear. You can also fit either 5 1/4" or 6 1/2" round speakers into the doors, however you'll need to get or make adapter plates for them to mate with the mounting points on the doors. Some places (like crutchfield) provide the adapters if you buy from them. Also to bear in mind you may need to trim back some of the little plastic on the inside of the door panel's speaker grill to keep it from striking the speaker cone. It just depends on the size of the speaker you're using.
i have these in my front doors: http://www.crutchfield.com/s_500SPR1...7S.html?tp=106
and i have these in my rear: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SPS6...00.html?tp=105
i also have an alpine head unit with a small powerpack hooked up to it for that little extra power. i havnt had any problems and since i ordered from crutchfield..like icspots mention.. they give you the adapter plates so therefore you wont need to trim away or anything like that. you can just simply install them.
