2008 Drivers seat manual adjustment fault
Hi all,
We have a 2008 mazda3 with manual seat adjustment. The height adjustment goes up fine but struggles to go down as if the ratchet or however it works is broken.
Has anyone come across this and knows the issue?
thanks.

Its an older vehcle so you could have wear or the mechanical parts are very dirty and or contaminated with the usual things that people dump and don't clean up in their vehicles.
We get vehicles in that would completely "gross out" CDC field responders. LOL I wont even touch some customers door handles to get in let alone the steering wheel without gloves on.
Best advise for you... the seat is easy to remove with simple and common garage tools to inspect and completely clean all the adjustment mechanisms
People often let the interior of their vehicles get grossly dirty due to a combination of factors. These include a lack of awareness about the health risks associated with a dirty car interior, a misconception that cleaning only provides aesthetic benefits, and a busy lifestyle that leads to neglecting the car's interior. Additionally, the misconception that cleaning only affects the exterior can lead to a neglect of the interior, resulting in deeper stains and damage that are more time-consuming and expensive to address later.
