2007 model odd engine whine
Hi all,
My MZR has just started with an unusual whine upon a cold start; it lasts for a few minutes then disappears - can anyone tell me what is causing it?
A couple of points:
1) I had some electrical problems a little while ago and the car still needs the idle reset - I'm assuming that rough as ***** sound has something to do with that
2) The video was taken at 5am, which is why it's pitch black. I started the car and moved round to the engine to get a clearer sound, which is why it gets louder.
The car has 190,000km on the clock and has had a hard life (I'm in rural Australia with dust/dirt roads etc) so I'm expecting something to need replacing at this point. Injectors were replaced about 50,000km back. The noise only appears on a cold start, lasts for a few minutes then disappears - there is no impact on performance.
If it's a straightforward pull part out/put part in issue then I'll do it myself but anything vaguely resembling complicated and it'll be off to a pro. Any help pinpointing this would be very greatly appreciated by both me and my poor empty bank account.
Thanks folks
Matt
