Default 2005 2.3 bad motor looking to swap a 2016 2.0

Like the title says is this even possible without doing major work. We found a very low mileage 2.0 for a great price but it's out of a 2016. Any info would be great

For enough money you can do anything. That said, performing the swap you're proposing will cost considerably more than A) your car is worth, and B) other more viable options.

The best bang for the buck (and by far the easiest swap) is to buy a Ford Duratec 2.5, basically a significantly upgraded twin of your 2.3, and put that in.

As I understand it, the 2.0 is not the same engine, honestly, the 2.5 is very inexpensive, very durable, more powerful, and still gets great fuel economy, and on top of it all, it is by far the easiest swap.
