Default Should there be a void in rear bumper?

Firstly apologies for all the questions. This is the first time owning a Mazda and as it's all new and different so unfortunately I will be asking rather than contributing to the forum for the next while.

I noticed while washing the 2 (2014 model) that there is a gap above the rear number plate in the bumper where I can see the wiring (parking sensors?) large enough to fit my hand through. Also, the licence plate lights are fixed with clips, but it looks like there are holes for screws to hold them in place, but no screws.

I don't have a picture, but could prob upload one later if needed. I would like to know if this gap is normal or should there be something there.

Thanks
Colm

Sounds completely normal.
