Default Mazda Demio 1999 gas gauge jumping

Hello, fellow Mazda owners I have recently bought a New (used) Mazda demio. The car is called Demio in Norway, where i live. I think it's called Mazda 2 in the United states of awesome!

I have a problem With the fuel gauge, it kind off jumps a little but up and Down. It's worse when i drive. I think it might be the sender in the fuel tank, what do you guys think? So i was wondering if anyone knows how i can gat to the tank? I need like full instructions, i am not a good mechanic!

The speedometer jumps a little up and Down too if that has anything to do With it. Hope you guys/Girls can give med some help! Thanks in advance!

I don't really know which year/model that would be in Norway. If both the speedometer and fuel gauge are eratic at the same time it could be the voltage regulator for the cluster is going out. It maintains a constant 12 volts to the gauges so that they do not fluctuate with the output of the alternator. This generally causes the fuel and temp gauge to fluctuate. Your model could have a speedo cable i suppose and you could have a bad fuel tank sending unit. If you are lucky you can pull the back seat bottom cushion out and see if there is an access plate for the fuel pump. It is an easy repair if so. If not then you must drop the fuel tank to get to the pump. You can do an easy test to see if it is the voltage regulator in the dash by letting the car idle, watch the gauges and start turning electrical loads on like headlights/ac/blower/wipers etc and see if the gauges are effected. Of course it could always be a poor ground shared by those 2 items.
