Default GPS issue in 2017 Yaris ia

This Yaris is a Mazda 2 with a Toyota name on it. The I bought the sd card to gain access to the nav but the gps doesn’t recognize my current location and recognizes 0 satellites. Can I fix this?

Does the Yaris run Mazda's MZD Connect screen & system?

What brand SD card did you buy? New or 2nd hand?

I have a 16 iA and it works fine. It did go wacky for a while, the location was off from our actual location by 500 feet or so. Toyota wanted to replace the whole system to fix. I reset it to factory settings and it has been perfect for the past 6 months. I would try a reset next.

other questions to consider:

Does the traffic screen show your location? (In the far left top menu)

Did the compass that was there before you put in the SD card work?

Does the SD card turn on the navigation? What location does it show? Does it move at all?

The system is the same as Mazda’s, only with Toyota’s name on it. The sd card is new, bought through Amazon. The maps are there but it shows me in Texas, and it doesn’t register any movement.

Default And...

The compass: I’m not sure if it worked but I was not shown in traffic. I tried the reset to factory settings with no change. I read some people suggest disconnecting the battery to solve the problem.

Default Success

I disconnected the battery for a minute, reconnected it, started the car. After I loaded the sd card, it worked!

Congratulations.

I am amazed how often on the Mazda forum the repair is free or close to it where on the BMW forum, the repairs are $1,000 to $2,000.
