AVN2 to Pioneer software
Hi all! I have recently purchased a new car, the 2014 mazda 2 sports colour edition. It has a pioneer oem infotainment system already. After some research, it is just a pioneer INE-W920R. Some other mazda's use it too like the mx5/mazda 6 etc
So the firmware that mazda puts on restricts the eq and greys everything out. Now i have just installed new speakers and added a subwoofer and i want to play around with different settings. I have seen that this has been done before where people have switched to the alpine stock firmware but unfortunetely i am having issues. When i extract the update file to a freshly formatted usb, with most people it showed them 'would you like to update' message. Although with me it doesn't.
At the moment i have navi apps installed into a micro usb. And the only other manual update selection is through the navi menu which only updates the map. Anyone else ran into the same issue or have resolved it? Thanks!

I'm thoroughly confused and at a loss. As a USA 2er, I'm sure this may not apply. The model # of the radio and the illustrations I've seen indicate it is an Alpine unit and somewhat aftermarket. Here, there would be no software involved with the 2. My thought, therefore, goes to the touch screen lockout that most radios and later Mazdas have. You may be improperly grounded or installed. Or, you may be properly installed. Try the buttons and features with the car parked and the emergency brake on. This would signal the radio that you are not going to do anything foolish. In my 2, I've bypassed it and can watch movies at high speed on the highway. Not that I would.
Hi!
Mazda put their own software on the pioneer unit. It does not matter if the car is parked or not as it is still greyed out. Everyone who i have talked to with the same AVN2 unit also has the same issue unfortunately.

As noted, thoroughly confused and across the pond. Try this group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Mazda2Owners They have many non-USA people on the board that would be happy to help. Good luck.
