Hi,

Can anyone help me? I've been trying to locate the EGR valve on the above car as I think it needs cleaning/replacing.

I frequently can smell exhaust fumes in the car and today the car went into limp mode. I may be wrong about the diagnosis but figured there would be no harm in locating it and cleaning it.

Unfortunately I can't get my hands on an OBD reader right away to check what code I had when it went into limp mode.

I disconnected the battery for a few hours to clear the code and it hasn't come back on yet, but fear it may do soon.

I also noticed the oil was very low on the dipstick (although no light on) so topped this up, could this have caused the limp mode? I'm new to Mazda's.
