I have a 2001 DX V6 4WD. The car is getting error code p0301 cylinder #1 misfire. I replaced all 6 plugs and am still getting the error. The car runs rough but not all the time. Sometimes the check engine light goes off for couple days then comes back. I also swapped the plugwire/coil from cylinder #3 with #1. Any ideas on what to try next?

 

if you for sure have good spark then you need to address fuel and compression. But it sounds intermidate so it might be hard to catch the culprate. some questions is the coolant ever low? Is it worse after sitting?

 

Thx for replying. The coolant is always full. After sitting it useally runs better. It seems to miss the worst in the afternoon when its hotter out and the engines hotter.

 

it sounds like you may have a fuel problem, I would try running a can of BG's 44k and a good tank of premium gas and see if that helps.
