Default For the ones that have removed the intake manifold

I own the 2008 Mazda Tribute. It's got the 2.3 Liter 4-cylinder engine. It's not a hybrid. I have a confirmed PCV hose vacuum leak. I have called around 7 different mechanic shops and they all said 4 hours of labor and the cheapest one quoted me $225 dollars. I don't have that kind of money. So I really want to do it myself. I already have all the parts including the intake manifold gasket set.

I REALLY need help with this. It's the family car and also my wife uses this car to take our son to his medical check ups and the park.

So I just have a few questions for the ones that have done the removal and re-install of the intake manifold from a Mazda Tribute.

1. How long did it take you altogether?

2. What tools did you use?

3. What was the most difficult part of the whole ordeal?

4. Can anyone that has mechanical aptitude do this?

5. Did you use any videos from Youtube or any other resource to help you out with this?

6. Do you have any advice?

Thank you.

Thanks for the link. It does help. I would have liked more pictures. I'm a part visual person. All we get is a picture of the intake manifold on the ground and the engine without the intake manifold.
