Hi all. Newbie here. Would anyone know if the idle air control valve on a v6 closes up when the engine is switched off. Mine stays open a little. Given that it stays open would that not cause a vacuum leak that would in turn cause a high 2000/2200 rpm at startup. As soon as mine jumps to 2000/2200 rpm it returns quickly to normal idle speed. This spike happens when engine is hot or cold. I will also add when i remove mine but leave the wiring connected and turn the key on and off the shaft/valve in the ICV does not move. A slight tapping noise is heard with power on and off. Many thanks.
