Auto feels like a manual '02 V6 Tribute
We just purchased a '02 V6 Tribute Auto. with 72000 km. everything is smooth until we found thisw problem: when we become static on "D" on a hill waiting for the lights, between releasing the brake andpressing the accelerator (I believe it is less than 0.5 sec) the car move backwards like a manual. I'm concerned about this. Could this be caused by the transmission? I recently changed the transmission oil, could a complete trans. flush be helpful? <Any Comments or Advices are welcome>

2006 Tribute V6 4WD 25,000 miles
Same things happens on mine and the hill doesn't have to be that steep. I don't think it is a problem just they way it is made. Doesn't bother me because this is the first Automatic I have ever owned and am used to the roll back effect. I know newer manuals now have a feature that prohobits that effect but perhaps Mazda decided they didn't want/need it. I think its between the lower idle of the car that alllows this but it has low end torque so I never had a problem getting it up the hill.
