Default Air conditioning switch

Just got a 05 Mazda tribute S awd with 56k miles for my fiance when her crv gave up the ghost. She loves the car and so do I. One issue it seems to have is the led on the A/C switch is always illuminated. The only way to turn it off is my turning the fan itself to off. Also when I push the button in the led turns off as long as I hold it but when I let go it comes back on. The button doesn't make any clicking sounds or anything so I don't know if it's actually doing anything. But the AC is on anytime the fan is running no matter what vents the air is blowing from, it even runs when using recirc which I'm pretty sure it shouldn't do. I have exhausted myself searching online for this issue.

Anyone know what would cause the AC to always run whenever the fan is on? No matter what settings are selected and cannot be toggled off? Thanks

Sounds like your a/c switch is mechanically broken and a/c is on all the time, which in turn runs the fan at low speed all the time...replace the switch and I’d expect all will go back to normal

Ty for the info. I kind of thought it was the switch possibly and when I tried to find a replacement it seems to be made from unobtainium. Gonna keep doing research.
