Default 2003 Tribute 3.0L Cam Position Sensor issues...

2003 Tribute 3.0L started running rough and is throwing Cam Position Sensor codes. Replaced sensor and connector pigtail because the connector itself was falling apart and its wire coatings had emulsified about 3" up the line exposing the two wires and shorting out. Fired it up and it's still running rough.

I checked it out and it's getting no juice to the connector. I tried re-splicing it twice, the last time just twisting the wires together to make sure of a connection. Still no juice at the connector.

Checked all other connections I can find on the harness and looked for any more damage and all fuses in both boxes and everything looks fine.

I used a 12v old-school, needle 'n light-bulb tester. Is it possible it is getting juice but not enough to light the tester? If so, will it take a little driving for the computer to reset?

Any ideas?

Thanks.
