2003 Tribute every once in awhile, the dash gauges will stop working and when that happens, the headlights stop working too. This only lasts for a few seconds and then everything starts working again. Dash lights go out too.

The car continues to run ok when this happens so I'm asking for some help in regards to where I should start looking to figure out what the problem is.

Sounds like the headlight switch,related wiring and/or a botched aftermarket radio installation.
