Hi all,

Just picked up my RX8 after having been in for a recall on the oil cooler pipes and wheel arch seams.
was told by the service engineer that over 260,000 rx8's and mazda 6's have to go in for these faults.
The salt in some countries is rusting the wheel arch seams and oil cooler pipes. The pipes are replaced and the wheel arches treated with anti chip paint.
It's costing Mazda a fortune. This applies to all rx8's and 6's

Thank god mine is still under warranty. Phew!!

how do i know if i need to take mine in??

 

I think the warranty work is kept on record at the Mazda dealerships. I bet that if you call a dealership and provide the VIN, they should be able to tell you exactly which warranty repairs have been done on your car (and which ones still need to be done).
